Important questions and answers about office lighting

Is office lighting related to employee performance?

Optimal lighting conditions in offices should not only reduce stress, but also reduce fatigue and improve concentration. The direct results: potentially less absenteeism due to overwork, increased general harmony and improved productivity at all levels of the company.

Are there regulations and guidelines that should be followed when designing lighting for the office?

With a view to occupational safety, the so-called Arbeitsstättenverordnung (ArbStättV – Workplace Ordinance) sets out a number of important requirements for lighting in offices. These include, for example, that an office workplace must be illuminated with at least 500 lux. The color temperature of the light should ideally be around 4,000 Kelvin (neutral white).
